Don’t like the way your eyes are aging?
Updated: May 3
As you age, the skin under the eyes becomes thinner due to less collagen and elastin protein production and the rate of replacement slows over time. Plus environmental damage (particularly sun damage), repeat squinting and lack of sleep, further breaks down these essential structural proteins. Wrinkles, under-eye bags and dark circles begin to form. The unwelcome result are eye areas that look dull and create a perpetually tired appearance.
Fortunately there are several types of eye procedures which address specific concerns
Now you have choices! You can correct sagging, puffiness, fine lines, open up eyes and brighten the eye area with various procedures. But how do you choose?
Everyone is unique and has different issues. What are your specific concerns? What amount of downtime do you have? How quickly do you want results?
That’s where your medi spa professional comes in. They offer non-invasive options, so you can choose the level of commitment that’s right for you. They work with you to determine the best course of action based on your unique needs, providing customized treatments tailored to your specific goals.
The following list of eye treatments were chosen for their effectiveness and are currently available at Medically Yours Medi Spa.
BBL (BroadBand Light) Therapy
BBL Therapy uses intense pulsed light instead of the more focused light of a laser. Laser treatments are a single wavelength, while BBL uses a broad spectrum of light that is filtered several different ways to treat different conditions. This therapy is highly effective for dark circles under the eyes. It also helps with wrinkles and crow’s feet, puffiness and sagging skin. The treatment works by destroying melanin that causes pigmentation, resulting in darkening of the skin.
Scarlet RF Microneedling
Radiofrequency microneedling (commonly called RF microneedling) is a non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment that enhances the collagen-boosting benefits of microneedling with the heat of radiofrequency energy. RF microneedling works by creating controlled micro-damage from both the ultra-fine needles and heat. This stimulates the body’s natural wound-healing response, kick-starting the biological processes that create new collagen and elastin. This procedure reduces the appearance of fine lines around the eye, including crow’s feet and puffiness. As a result your eyes are tighter and firmer for a more youthful appearance.
Moxi - Laser Skin Resurfacing
Moxi is a fractionated laser that targets pigment by creating tiny perforations in the superficial top layer of skin. These micro-injuries stimulate the dermal repair process, revitalizing tone and texture by producing healthy new skin cells, removing dead skin cells and increasing circulation. Moxi is effective for dark skin, deep bags and crepe paper looking skin under the eyes.
Neogen Plasma works by converting inert nitrogen gas into plasma energy. This non-surgical and non-invasive heat-using plasma technology creates very tiny areas of trauma that stimulates the body’s tissue regeneration and rejuvenation abilities which in turn regenerates skin cells and replaces damaged collagen and elastin. This eye rejuvenation treatment tones and tightens eyelids and the under eye area lifting the skin around the eyes making eyes appear wider, brighter and more youthful. It’s particularly beneficial for eyelids that have a droopy look.
Botox (and botox-like neurotoxins)
One of the most common non-surgical treatments to address frown lines between the eyebrows, lift brows and diminish crow’s feet on the outside of the eyes are neurotoxins like Botox. These injectables work by relaxing the facial muscles responsible for these fine lines. Results typically appear in one to two days and reveal a younger, more refreshed appearance.
Prolong your medi spa eye procedure with at-home eye treatments
Retinol is an ingredient that can effectively boost collagen production and in turn, help smooth fine lines and prevent wrinkles, making it a great ingredient to use around the eye area.
Eye brightens have ingredients like vitamin C, niacinamide and caffeine, which help reduce dark circles and puffiness.
Eye creams are many times formulated for dryer, mature skin and target moisture loss, skin laxity and crow’s feet.
